| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 24, 2007 Bottle: Black in color, coffee hued edges, thin head that dies immediately, no lacing. Lactose like nose, sweet yet a touch sour. Even a bit of campfire or charred wood is noticeable. Sweet milky start, quite roasty, with a soft hop presense. Well balanced between the sweetness and the bitter aspect. Soft roasted milk chocolate finish. Moderate body and mouthfeel. Better than I expected. Not big nor heavy, but fairly solid. Lingering flavors of cold coffee with tons of cream in it. Mmmmm....

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 19, 2007 12oz bottles acquired in trades with cbkschubert & FlacoAlto (thanks!). I’m really into the SKA labels. This one makes me want to break out an old pair of my steel toe cherry reds or even a pair of my Ox Bloods and go stomp in some heads! Poured a dark, dark brown color with a smaller sized tan head. The aromas instantly reminded me of Almond Hersey Kisses. Other aromas of coffee, roasted & burnt malts, and some lactose. The tastes were a little softer than the aroma lead me to expect and consisted of chocolate, roast, coffee, and a touch of milkiness. Had a light sour finish. Softer and creamy body. Interesting for a sweet stout. Looks like I’m going against the norm, but I liked this one. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2007 Updated: Mar 13, 200712 oz bottle via Arctic Liquors BOM club. Pours an almost pitch black with a tiny tan head. Nose is divine, roasted barley, burnt coffee, vanilla. Tastes just like it smells with a bit of milk chocolate in the finish. Hops are subdued, but what there is, is piney. Light body. Moderate carbonation. Quite tasty and easy to drink. I like this one. At 4.5% -his would be a session beer staple in my fridge if i could get this locally. NachlamSie (1644), Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2006 Bottle. Pours a dark, dark brown with no head whatsoever. The aroma is nutty with light chocolate, some buttery notes, a hint of coffee, cola. It’s a bit fizzy in the mouth with mild astrigency of chalk, but the finish rounds everything out pretty well. Notes of brownies, chocolate milk, and pound cake make this a bit more savory. This doesn’t hold up to some of its competitors, but it’s an okay stout. Sammy (4038), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Roast bold heavy lactose mocha with aggressive carbonation and sour finish.Sour not sweet aftertaste. Some smokey astringency. I don’t drink coffee nor put sugar into my drinks, but I appreciate the effort, and the milk stout style. This is not double cream Bell’s.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 1, 2006 Updated: Dec 2, 2006Bottle: Courtesy of cbkschubert via trade. The aroma has lots of chocolate with some roasted grain and a hint of black coffee. Pours a dark brown with faint orange hilights when held to the light. The pour creates a very fizzy brown head that quickly diminishes to a ring. The flavor starts with some sugary chocolate with a hints of roasted grain. There is a light sour fruitiness in the middle with a mild roasted coffee finish and light acidity. The palate is a tad thin for a stout.
