Angelmonster (6), Colorado, USA does not count Nov 4, 2009 As I open this bottle a rush of air comes out, I begin to pour the beer and foam fills up half the glass. It takes about five minutes for the head to go down so I can pour the rest of the glass. Finally I get a nice 3 1/2 finger tan head. Body is an extremely dark brown color, almost black. Head retention and lacing were good
Aroma is of lightly roasted malt. Slight smell of copper also. There is also some faint chocolate and coffee. Hops arent in the nose
Flavor is much better than smell. Smoky, roasted malt comes in first. There is a nice sweetness that is countered by some slightly bitter hops. There is a weird metallic after taste that comes and goes.
Mouth feel is good. Carbonation isnt as much as I thought it would be after the initial pour. Body is light but not watery. Head left some cream through most of the glass
Overall this beer is good. Sessionable, like most porters. Not the best porter ever, or even in Colorado, but still good. Would buy again sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 27, 2009 courtesy of retorp.
Pours brown, beige head.

Pours dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, sweet vanilla, and molassas. Flavor is light roasted malt and some molassas. Really thin mouthfeel for a self described robust porter. Not to impressed. Elwood (665), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Aug 4, 2009 Serving: 12 oz. bottle.
Appearance: Deep brown with a creamy, light tan head.
Aroma: Roasted malt, earth, and coffee. Relatively light nose.
Taste: Caramel, mineral, earth, burnt malt, and a little licorice note.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel. Medium finish.
Overall: A better than average porter, but it could use a little more body.
