Has aromas of grass and slight ripe banana. Tastes of honey and grains, this beer has a bit of a dry finish. Overall unremarkable. BBB63 (4267), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 5, 2007 Bottle and served in my NB Worthy glass: A clean deep golden hue with very little head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of banana and pear esters, grassy and clove hops vapours, a bit phenolic and biscuity as well. The taste is slightly fruity and sweet damp malts, more akin to the spent malt you dump out than a richer deep malt flavor. Light spice and banana nut bread finish. The mouth feel is equally bland and does noting to excite the palate. Boy, talk about a truly muddled and nondescript beer. Not a Dubbel, not a Strong Ale, hell it is not even a really Belgian styled. A complete waste of time but not a drain pour. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2007 22 oz bottle. Golden color, smell of banana and clove. Crisp and fresh taste. Light and slightly warming. The flavor reminds me of a triple, not a dubbel, but im no expert. Pretty good, but very light for this style. IrishBoy (2718), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2006 I really don’t like Belgium ales a lot, but I like this one. Hazy, yellow color with tiny partials floating around. Smell of yeast, gas, honey, bananas and hints of lemon juice. Taste of yeast, bananas, hops, alcohol, lemon zest and hot dog water(very slight). Nice malt bitters at the end. brewblackhole (1384), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 26, 2006 Heavy Belgium yeast and ester aromas, plenty of fruit and banana and sugar in the taste, very smooth light and tastey, the word Dubbel in the title a total misnomer, as there is nothing Abbey Dubbel about this
