Poured hazy golden yellow with tiny white head. Soft carbonation. Fruity spicy aroma. Medium bodied ale that starts with light malt sweetness and biscuity toasted malt flavor. Some fruitiness and honey notes in the middle. Finished dry with light malt fade. A rich, smooth and delicious ale. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Had this beer on 4/30/2005. Aroma is sweet and spicy, reminds me of a White. Color is a hazy gold with light carbonation and very thin head, I hope it is not too flat. Taste is, well its sweet and sour. Starting with a crisp medium body it goes down with a crisp feel and a sweetness coming on. Finish comes in with the sweetness turning to a sour taste that is backed by a spicy and citrus flavors. Wow, this is much better then I thought it would be. I think the best way to describe it would be to say it sits somewhere between a Paulaner Hefy and a Celis White. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2008 This isn’t a blonde like I have had before. It’s somewhat too hoppy and bitter. The color is ok, the scent smells like a blonde, but it just isn’t quite right. Not a bad beer-it’s clean and has some decent yeasty flavors-but I would never buy it over Prarie Path or Leffe. Sensational aroma of wild honey, floral hops, belgian white candy sugars and orange peels.
Diverse flavor profile. Front is pineapple, honey dew and melon. Mid-palate transforms into notes of butter toffee, caramel and biscuits. The finish is a good combination of sweet and dry with candy sugars, wild honey and dried flowers. thornecb (1813), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 29, 2007 Pours bright gold into a Trappist glass. Bright white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Belgian yeast aromas. Sharp and crisp upfront although slightly chalky. Lasting bitter finish. Alcohol well hidden, but felt...certainly not a dubbel, but classifications aside has a nice crisp flavor. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2005 The beer disenfranchises itself from the 22-ounce brown bottle a luminous golden amber color with a creamy light tan head that is portly in size and after its disintegration; the lace forms a thick sheet upon the glass. Nose has a honey and vanilla aroma that is undergirded with a nutlike malt sweetness, crisp and quite pleasant, start is quite with a delectable malt presence, the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is customary in its acidity and the hop delicate in their spiciness, droughty aftertaste that settles firmly on the palate, a nice drinking beer that I found quite refreshing.
(Note): I met the nice folks from SKA at the 2005 Arizona Beer Fest, some fine people who enjoy beer and the people who drink beer and this beer seemed to be a big hit with the attendees, and I thank them once again for the goodies they shared with the “Beer Pullers” from Little Guy Brewing.
