| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 24, 2005 Had a some what musty fruit aroma. Copper body with off white head. Medium citrus flavor for an ipa. Malty presence held back those citrus flavors ususally given in an ipa. Cool and crisp nonetheless on the palate. Enjoyable drink. hopdog (5609), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2005 Bottle listed as 7.2% abv. Poured a dark amber color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of pineapples, juicy oranges and some grapefruit. Tastes of pineapple, grapefruits, some caramel, and fruity. Has a light sweetness to medium bitter balance. Lacing left on the glass. I found this to be an enjoyable IPA. FlacoAlto (2482), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 26, 2005 Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a frothy, three finger thick tan colored head that forms a rocky surface & a lacing pattern on the glass as it slowly falls down. The aroma is lightly sticky with sweet notes of grapefruit, sharp notes of pine, hints of mint and a general herbal character. The aroma is somewhat more muted than I would expect from an IPA, but it is good. The taste is sweet up front, and finishes with a slight note of alcohol. Of course there is an ample hop note here as well. The finish, with the alcohol and hops, is almost like a tincture of hops. In a single sip the sweetness up front plays up the grapefruit and citrus notes, but the beer quickly dries out as the hop astringency and bitterness take a death grip on the final throws of my palate.
The finish of this beer can at times be bracing, yet it is still balanced enough with the malt sweetness and citrus hopping that it is not overwhelming. At times this beer picks up some harsh astringent notes, think a strong herbal note, that seems to hit from time to time depending on which sip it is. This beer has a bit too much of the harsh astringent hop character in the finish, it is still enjoyable, just a bit over the top for my palate. For those who like raw hops, definitely grab some of this if given the opportunity.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 2, 2005 This is a beer that has some nice parts, but doesn’t come together real well. Fairly hoppy aroma of grapefruit. Reddish amber in appearance with a quick, small white head. Flavor is way to heavy on the crystal malts and builds to an almost too much alcohol in the maltiness. Bitter…yes. Lots of lemon peel and grapefruit in there. Long and bitter aftertaste. A little fine tuning and this could be real nice. Thanks to Andre for the beverage. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2005 From a 22oz bottle.
Pours a deep red brown, nearly clear., with a tan-colored head. The aroma is a lovely spruce, grapefruit, and pineapple with hint of yeast, and the flavor is a rich and heavily-hopped from the initial taste through to the long finish. This beer has a big malt taste, lots of not-so-sweet caramel that would be almost heavy if it didn’t quickly blend into the explosion of hops. The mouthfeel is good if slightly heavy.
This is a very well put-together beer. I’m impressed. FoolishMortal (966), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2005 Muddy orange bown color, opaque. Citrus, grassy hop aroma. RAther resinous flavor character, probably from the large amount of particulates. Residual bitterness and astringency in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium and almost gritty. The amount of suspended matter in the beer I observed in relation to other reports lends me to believe that my bottle was flawed.
