This is more of a malt-heavy IPA, in the Midwest tradition. Still - it’s yummy, with bitter to the tip of the tongue bitterness. After warming a little it develops an almost a light chocolate maltiness - tempered by the hops that are now in full force. Drink at cellar. carruthm (1185), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Bottle shared with my pal Tony. Poured deep orange with minimal head. Smelled and looked fresh. Definite malty body. My first thought was more along the lines of a malty tea than beer, but there were certainly grapefruit hop notes there as well, just a bit more subtle than I expected from a west coast IPA. Somewhat earthy, mild pine. Bitter finish, in a good way. Quite enjoyable. anders37 (4793), Malmö, Sweden
