This one pours turbid copper with ruby edges and 2-fingers of off-white head. Great lacing, and an overall great look to this one. The nose was piney hoppy, caramel malt, citrus, black pepper. The taste was hoppy, fruity, with a solid caramel malt base. I also got varied amounts of mango, pineapple, and honeydew in the flavor, and this one was nicely balanced. The dry hopping became more apparent as it warmed. This is yet another IPA that I’d stock by the case if I could, and I thank Mr Crow for the opportunity to try it. troopie (890), USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours a dark hazy orange, with a big frothy head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor is similiar with a fairly big malt backbone and a touch of earthiness. Long bitter finish. Bottom line: I like my IPA’s hoppy from beginning to end and this IPA just did not do it for me. Too malty and there was something a bit off with the flavor. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Courtesy of travisd13 on the obs. Pours dark orange color, moderate white head that leaves some lace. Smells hoppy and citrsuy, orange. Tastes earthy a bit metallic. Sweet up front and bitter as you swallow. It has a different taste to it, but its good. Full bodied, somewhat thick, crisp carbonation. Good, better fresh maybe. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Love the label. Good beer, too. Cloudy orange/amber with an ecru head. Lots of citrusy and piney hops hit the nose with sweet malt notes vying for attention and getting it. More malt presence than usual in an IPA but done well. The sweetness starts the flavor but the hops come on strong. Still, there is a nice balance. fakepurseninja (785), Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Very Indian, and pale, ... and ale-ly. Super grapefruit-orange-hybrid citrus touch balanced smooth malt with heavy grass tones and and earthy essence. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2007 Bought at whole foods seattle a while ago. Aroma was a little vegetal and a citrusy. Flavor was really weird and earthy for an IPA. Was a little weird tasting and not all that great of an IPA overall. Beerlando (2344), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 4, 2007 The body is a clear, burnt orange-amber color. A small, foamy, off-white head settles to a thin blanket, leaving behind random patchwork lacing. The aroma shows toasted caramel, sweet biscuit, and mildly spicy floral and citrus hops. The flavor takes a turn towards grapefruit on the hop side, with sweeter than advertised caramel providing the malt backbone. Medium bodied and moderately syrupy. Finishes slightly astringent. Decent brew at best. Nothing special.
