yalnikim (666), Wellington, New Zealand Nov 5, 2007 Tasted 03/11/2007. 750ml bottle from BrewNZ. Classic German-style tropical lager. Pale gold. Clear. Slight grainy note and honey on the nose, with a little metallic noet. Medium-dry. Medium bitterness. Steely herbal hop character. Drinkable but uninterestnig. Better as the base for a shandy (with homemade lemonade) after a hot afternoon in the garden. bozoNZ (370), Christchurch, New Zealand Sep 26, 2007 From a large (640ml?) bottle ex BrewNZ. Poured light straw golden, fluffy clean white head. Cornmeal grainy nose but a wiff sour too. Adjunct laden palate touches of malt character and the faintest hop bitterness. My wife liked it - sums it up really. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 22, 2007 Updated: Mar 1, 2007Canned. Pale golden, fizzy head. Rubbery vegetable aroma. Sweetish, bland and fizzy with light body and notes of rubber and compost heap. No bitterness. Really bad. highlandlad (1200), Sydney, Australia Oct 4, 2006 This is the world’s "3rd largest selling beer", according to the can. Ain’t that about enough to make you cry. The Malaysian version is crystal clear filtered gold and poured with a short, loose head and very busy bubbles. The aroma is faint and unpleasant - car vinyl, stale hard cheese and rice. Hard, spritzy mouthfeel. Peculiar flavour mix of honey and watery lemons - like something yer ma would give you when you were sick. There’s some wet newspaper malts but no discernible hops. Sour soda-like finish. Quenching but not much like beer. (Malaysian version brewed by Carlsberg, 330ml can) TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Feb 25, 2006 Can, 5.0%, brewed by Carlsberg Malaysia
Golden color, decent creamy white head. Wet cardboard, rice and malt aroma. Light-bodied, sweet maize-malty flavor. Sweet and bland, as SKOLs are.
