| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Interesting brew - very dark and heavy. All sorts of roasted malts with some lingering figgy notes. Dry biscuit aftertaste with a sort of nutty-cacao finish. Interesting. Oakes (8142), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 21, 2007 Preliminary rating (Skookum taproom, 1st batch): Hazy chestnut colour. The aroma is quite toasty. Fresh, husky, biscuity, toasty flavour but a bit thin at the end. Brewer told me he wanted more sugars in the back to round out the body and that’s a good idea. Will revisit in the summer.
