bsierra (184), Vista, California, USA Jun 25, 2008 Had on tap at San Diego fair’s craft beer fest. Pours a rusty hue, with a nice grainy with touch of honey nose. Taste is light with a little bit of a Belgian flavor. Nice wheat and honey for a smooth easy to drink Ale. Not bad~
thegreenrooster (1514), St.louis, Missouri, USA Oct 3, 2008 Pour is a cloudy orange with a small head. Aroma is mostly and artificial suger sweetness. Flavor is dusty but sweet and nothing like a wheat should. This is not a good effort. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 18, 2008 30-Jun-08 (12-oz bottle: Purchased 12-May-08 for $1.69 at Hollingshead Deli in Orange, CA) Core flavors of wheat, malt and sweet honey are balanced by mild clove, citrus peel, and gently bitter, floral hoppiness in the finish. In between sips, the bready, wheat flavor lingers on the palate and begins to taste stale, resulting in a brew that isn’t refreshing or clean on the palate. Body is medium and carbonation is light-medium. Sweet honey, wheat and cardboard aromas bear some resemblance to cereal sprayed with furniture polish. In the glass, the beer is moderately cloudy and littered with large, chunky sediment from the bottle. The small, whitish head quickly and fully dissipates, eliminating the possibility of lacing on the glass. Overall, I have to give the brewer credit for not dishing up some light-bodied swill and calling it a craft beer, but it’s still not all that enjoyable. And frankly, it’s hard to imagine the intended audience for this beer. Craft beer drinkers probably won’t be all that enthusiastic about it (or most others in this style), yet it’s heavy and bitter enough to repel those who drink mass-produced beers. One can only hope that this new brewery will show more originality and verve with future offerings. marcus (1055), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 9, 2008 This blonde ale poured with a decent beige head. The flavor is a bit thin, but there is some pleasant honey sweetness with a more bitter finish. bhensonb (3015), Woodland, California, USA Apr 13, 2008 Aroma is arguably wheat and honey. Hazy dark gold color with a flat white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor seems to be lightly roasted malt and honey. There is some bitter, and very little banana or clove. Finish is pretty much the same. It tastes fine, but it’s not exciting.
