Bottle from Peterborough BF ’08. Gold with a white head. Yeast and caramel malt aroma. Very sweet taste with a little sourness. Some bitterness at the end, but sweetness and yeast are the dominant impressions. It proved attractive to wasps in the garden. Quite enjoyed it.

Belgian yeast aroma. Clear golden colour. Very small white head. The flavour is also a lot like Belgian yeast. Some bitterness. Tastes a lot like a Belgian blond. Not a pils, but not bad either.

Bottled. Clear golden, dense but fair sized head. Aroma of hay, viola and butterscotch. Medium sweet with fair amounts of hops. Diacetyl gives cellary butterscotch tones. Light-medium bodied with reasonable bitterness.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Sweet malts along with sweet fruits as well as minor notes of yeast and metal. Flavour is sweet malts, very fruity and also has some slight notes of yeast. Quite ale-like lager.

Clear golden with medium white short lasting head. Sweet yeasty aroma with fruity notes. Sweet malty flavor with ripe fruits, yeast and caramel notes. Not your typical lager luckyly.

Cafe Belge, Canterbury. A dirty tasting lager. Ho ho ho. Drinkable, but not that good. Adjunct flavours. Flaccid and greasy.

Comments: A pretty decent Belgian pils really, sweet as is the case with most of the country’s attempts, but still crisp, highly carbonated and well hopped.

A Mes rate: Draught at Bruxellensis. Lager looks. Drinkable and refreshing. Light bitterness and none of the expected cardboard. Surprised that I actually thought this was ok.
