Blond color. I expected a lame beer, instead it’s a pleasant Pils: some malt aroma, creamy; even better malt flavor, with a cereal and honey touch, possibly even crispy, and a good quality hopping. Easy but pleasant.

Comments: A pretty decent Belgian pils really, sweet as is the case with most of the country’s attempts, but still crisp, highly carbonated and well hopped.

Belgian yeast aroma. Clear golden colour. Very small white head. The flavour is also a lot like Belgian yeast. Some bitterness. Tastes a lot like a Belgian blond. Not a pils, but not bad either.

Clear golden with medium white short lasting head. Sweet yeasty aroma with fruity notes. Sweet malty flavor with ripe fruits, yeast and caramel notes. Not your typical lager luckyly.

Draught @ ZBF 2009, St.-Niklaas, Belgium.
Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, sour malt notes, light hoppy, citrus, light to moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090307]

On tap @ Bruxellensis. I know the style gets no respect around here, but I thought this was a nice one with some character. Golden beer with a whitish head that goes filmy. Bready aroma with notes of sourdough, corn tortilla and and grass. Light body, dry, and mildly bitter. Grassy, refreshing. Bust out the Belgian lawnmower.

At d’Oude Speye in Damme near Bruges. Nice golden lager with soft carbonation and creamy head. Good soft aroma’s with some fruityness and a faint hoppy touch. Smooth and refreshing taste with a small bitter touch that is well integrated in this outstanding lager. It has a nice a clean afthertaste.
