Looks like the cyrillic nations are just discovering ice beer after it’s been declared passé for so many years by western types. Pours a very average looking gold-yellow with almost no head. Smells like slight grains with lots of alcohol. Taste is a barely registerable graininess with alcohol, a slightly fortified taste of grain to it, probably thanks to the "ice" process. But give this one a wide berth.

I had to give one of the many Ukrainian beers like this a try. This 500ml bottle was bought from a kiosk at the harbour in Yalta. It did not turn out as a great experience and some of the content went straight into the Black Sea. The appearance was alright, straw coloured head, Bubbly, two-finger white head and some lacework on the glass. Smell of foamy water. Sticky, sprite-like taste. Missing finish. Fizzy carbonation. Watered and thin in the mouth (14.07.2009).

Bottle, 5.0%. Clear pale golden colour. White head. The flavour is slightly grainy. Low bitterness. Faint hint of cream as in many German ’Gold’ beers.

Canned. Clear pale golden, small head. Aroma of rotting vegetables. Sweet with notes of dusty apples and garbage. No bitterness. Cidery in the worst possible way.

Very pale yellow body, almost no head. White head quickly disappears entirely. Caramelly, buttery aroma. Almost no taste; vague hints of malts and grass, but nothing more. As such, this could be described as a successful ice beer. (0.33l bottle.)

Bottled(330ml). -the worst ukraine beer I've tried, bottled in white 330ml. bottle looks like some hospital urine sample. Extremely pale yellow colour with extremely bad carbonated taste, dry and watery finish

The term ice sends shivers down the back. Simply because you expect something that is going to be bland and dry. Yep, as expected. Dry finish and low malt presence topped off with a high level of carbonation.
