Blond color, creamy head. Soft beer, can’t even tell if Ale or Lager. Useless.

Pale amber beer with a thin white head. Aroma is very lightly caramelly with a touch of light crackery character. Faint herbal hoppiness. Light bodied and easy to put back, but Sleeman’s has certain shot for the low end with this one... no surprise there.

A golden ale with a thick white head. Lightly hopped malt aroma with notes of sulfur and biscuit. In mouth, a crisp malt with light grainyness and herbal hops. Short in mouth. Not bad for Sleeman. Bought at LCBO.

Lightly grassy hops over caramel malt in the nose. Clear deep golden body is topped by a generous, fine bubbled white head that recedes slowly to a lasting cover with nice lacing. Caramel malt up front with grassy hops and fair bitterness. Sweetness lingers in the aftertaste. Medium light body with quite strong and somewhat distracting carbonation over the watery texture. Tulip glass. Fridge temperature. Bottle (BCLS at Hellsgate, Jun-08).

Bottle pour. At Toronto Festival of Beers 2008. Shame shame SHAME on this wretched brewery for fobbing off this shite as a "special" anniversary beer - good lord it’s lame. Clear pale amber pour, flat-looking, a diminishing head (a reluctant 3/5). Smells like dry corn and caramel and paper, dead and weed-bitter, hints of skunk and plastic for added effect. Dead plastic taste - I’d swear it had been sitting in a plastic jug in the sun all day if I hadn’t seen the girl pull it from the ice chest myself - watery, dead, hints of cooked vegetable and an aftertaste that reminded me of pond water. Bad. Sleeman’s outta be ashamed. But they won’t be.

Appearance: Good, solid gold, medium carbonation visible. Bright medium sized top with some lacing.3+
Nose : Mineral , citric fruity feel. Generic hop , grassy accents . Hint of oxidation was noted as well.
Flavor/Palate : Medium , light bodied . Clean grainy malt is the main theme. Clean , simple straight forward . Light hoppy finish.

2008-08-10. Copper amber body with a modest white head. (3+) Mild grainy aroma with light yeast, and a grainy character that stirs vague memories of some other Sleeman’s product but I do not recall which. The grains carry over to the flavour, light astringency in the finish. Average palate. Bit dull, which I assume explains the severe boredom evidenced in the server’s face when she poured it.Bottle, Toronto Festival of Beer

(Bottle) Pours an orange amber body with a quick dissipating white head. Nose of cereal. Pretty poor by comparison to other Sleeman one off’s like the John Sleeman’s Present series. Mild hops and malt mingle for a purely average beer. Sleeper-cell beer?
