| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2004 This is the type of beer I want in the summertime - smooth and creamy with a crisp ending, warm woody, peppery hops - refreshing. Can't fault anybody for making something like this instead of a standard lager swiseman (210), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada

Golden color with a thin white quickly disappearing head. Lots of bubbles. Slightly sweet flavor, reminds me a little of creamed corn with some vanilla hints. Not the typical malt flavors one would associate with beer of this style, but tasty and easily drinkable. Not being a hophead, I really liked this beer as an ice cold refresher and a serious BBQ beer. A beer style that I've always had a soft spot for(remember Blatz Light Cream Ale, anyone?) I can smell the grill already. Where are people getting skunky samples of Sleemans? The containers(6 or 12pks) are sealed from light. The bottles do not have twist-offs, what the hell are you talking about? Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 30, 2004 Standard lager aroma. I like the Sleeman bottle, but it needs to be brown and they need to shake the twistoff. Light lager gold. A bit tart, crisp, medium Saaz hops, mostly dry, some clear gel-like flavoring. Finishes like a pils with a whack of hops and crisp carbonation. Aftertaste hangs on for quite a while. Drinkable. Beer Snob (382), Ontario, Canada
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 27, 2004 Potentially Canada's most overrated beer. Smells like it has a hoppy flavour, but I'll be damned if I can taste any. Weak taste with a tinny aftertaste. I remember this as being a decent ale about ten years ago. Either my palate has matured or they decided to take the flavour away. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 25, 2004 Pours with a light golden color with a thin white head and good bubble action, light lacing. Not much of an aroma, slight musk. Flavor starts off rather bland, but picks up some faint hoppy bitter notes close to the end. Also a bit of nuttiness, but not much. Decent mouthfeel, just a tad tinny though, not very creamy. Overall, decent.
