golden ruby, sweet aroma, sweet light malt with a little rich fruityness, but a little clawing in palate, with a drying bitterness

Not a bad beer, as somebody below says "A good standby beer" and I can see why, looks great, smells slightly sweet, tastes a little sweet indeed a little bit honey like but hardly going to attract bears to your door, short aftertaste, just your regular joe beer

As far as honey lagers go, this one isnt that bad. Prob. one of the better ones that i have drank. Im not a real big fan of sweet beers and this one is certainly sweet.

smells neutral, somwhat sweet. looks great! A deep copper. Taste....boring? Its like a plain jane lager with some sweetness and a little character perhaps from very slight malt. The shocking thing is, that over the years I feel from the bottle the taste is not consistent sometimes even in the same case. Ive suspected bottling issues with Sleemans for some years now. Try it on tap, its better. palate is quite nice. medium body. A decent beer when there is not much selection at the shop!

Bottle snagged from the "singles" bargain bin at the LCBO. Poured a light amber lager in the stein with a decent 2 finger head . Poor cap retention but the surface foam laces the glass well. Aroma is better than most Sleeman products...at least you can smell some bready sweet grains in this with a light wisp of hay. Nice chew of malt up front, fair body, some sweetness, some bready toastiness , some woody-herbal tones from hops...mmmm decent...and that damnable Sleeman signature corn dextrin taste show up to ruin the finsh. This was a decent take on a Vienna lager until that corny dextrine sweetness showed up ( no honey to speak of) ... too bad, they had something going here. Having put this off because I never felt compelled to buy a 12 just to taste this bland brewers full line, I am somewhat surprised this beer came so close to being a real vienna lager then crashing and burning so badly in the final moments....to bad. We need a good Vienna around here, but this isn’t it.... BTWI I have no idea why the site would list this as a dunkel. Style dyslexia?

bottle. Drank from the bottle. Very easy to drink. Quite sweet but not overly so.

Bottle, from Rhythm & Booze in Brigg. Amber gold, thin shortlived white head and gentle condition. No aroma initially but a low suggestion of toffee and malt as it warms, gentle sweet toffee note in the mouth and a dry chalkiness in the finish.
