Copper, collapsing off-white head that slowly disappears. Rich continental smelling malts and a slightly oxidised cardboardy note. I don’t get any honey. Good malt notes up front, a little toasty. Then there’s an astringency at the end that is unpleasant; warming. More staleness shows through on the palate. Could be ok, if it was fresh, but I doubt it is great. johndoughty (2167), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 14, 2007 Very hoppy with some honey to the nose. Nice big tan head on a clear amber body. Flavor has definite sweet honey presence with some hops and barley malt. Palate is unfortunately a little watery but other characteristics win over this weakness. Wasn’t expecting this to be very good and I was pleasantly surprised. mansquito (843), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Amber colour with some head. Pretty smooth sweet taste. The honey taste is very obviously there. For a lager it had a surprisingly big body and all. Not too bad. I was expecting something far worse than this.
