| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 31, 2006 Clear bottle. Nice looking pale amber/brown. Poured a thin head but was not expecting much. Hint of toastiness as per style. No hops and no honey notes. Has a sweet maltiness in mouth and also finishes sweet. I suppose this is supposed to be the honey character but it tastes false. Not like honey but lightly colored caramel malt. No hop character but not expecting any. Cleanly brewed with bit of interest from dark malts but not memorable. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 14, 2006 355ml Bottle: Well, the brightest compliment I can pay this one is I didn’t hate it as much as previous tastes of Sleeman products. Aroma actually presents a little bit of honey, alongside roasted nuts, and caramel. Kinda nice, surprisingly. The pour never materialized, just fell in the glass with a light ridge of head. Taste isn’t offensive, even has a few subtle sweet nuances I could appreciate. Would never be a regular for me, but I didn’t hate it. tmann82 (12), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Took me a while to get used to the sweet taste of it, I suppose I had to acquire the taste for it. Skinnyviking (4171), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Pours a beautiful copper, with a creamy head that does not last very long. The aroma is fantastic: smacks of caramel & warm bread!!!!!! Initial moutful is disappointing. Thick, but not as sweet as expected. Little real flavor, no aftertaste.
Caramel & malt very far in the backdrop. Not enough of it to save this beer. Looks /smells great. Tastes like a shadow. Try again, Sleeman.
