Exhales a skunky aroma typical from clear bottled beers. Taste is well balanced but not as strong as I was expecting. Final is short and lacks some bitterness. I am quite disappointed... I will continue to drink Unibroue’s U2 instead of this. carnival (20), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

This is, of course, due to the additive, but I believe that it is a great beer to nurse, none-the-less. Tasty, nice body, and a sure hit with friends (if you order a pitcher). | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 10, 2004 This used to be a rather flavourful beer when I first had it several years ago. I still couldn’t taste any honey, but it had a subtle sweetness and good thin brown colour and thin malt character that I found refreshing and satisfying. A recent sample from my wife’s pint displayed most of these same characteristics, but they’ve really stretched this out, “dumbed” it down, and made it bland. Easy to say and a typical shot at rapidly expanding macro “micro” but this is a classic example of such a thing. Probably my favourite of their line though. MrManning (1655), London, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 2, 2004 Pours a slightly cloudy, orangey/red body witha thin and watery looking head. Aroma is sweet, and slightly hoppy, with a hint of honey. Taste is a little honey, but could be more. More hops and water than honey to be honest. Smooth and refreshing. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 4, 2004 On Tap at Griffin Grill & Pub in Battle Creek, MI. This brew poured a foamy finely sized off-white colored head of mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was a transparent carbonated amber brown color. The aroma was mild with malt hops and a slight honey note. The mouth feel was tingly carbonated and dry. The flavor was that of brown malts and honey. hotstuff (3181), Indiana, USA
