Similar macro lager aroma of their other beers with a little sweetness. Nutty, corny, sweet lager that is much like a combination of their Cream Ale and Original Dark, with a little honey sweetness thrown in. Good combination, very drinkable. I liked all three beers offered in the sampler pack, but I think the Cream Ale was best. Still, you can't go wrong for cold drinkin' refreshment with the Sleeman mainstays. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 30, 2004 Appearance dings for the clear bottle and the twistoff cap, but good marks for the butterscotch colored beer, and the embossed potato-masher bottle. Aroma is a bit malt-stinky at times. Crisp beer, fairly well bittered, mostly dry, light nut sweetness. Refreshing body and carbonation, trailing tartness and some off corny notes. A decent cookout beer; I was pleasantly surprised. bubslang (438), Kentwood, Michigan, USA

Better than your typical bland Macro-type lager, but nothing to get excited about. PorterPounder (3147), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 25, 2004 Has a peanut-like aroma overridding the typical wet paper bag aroma atypical of these types of beers. Dark orange to light brown appearance with a thin white head - little to no lacing. Very thin mouthfeel which turns metallic as you get near the bottom of the glass. Flavor has a wee bit of honey and some nuttiness, but altogether it is too "chemically". Finish is muddled and confusing, turning to metal. celogan (190), Oroville, California, USA

Typical Canadian beer with not much substance.
Not terrible, but at least drinkable.
Pourdc with a reddish tint and a head that left so quickly you almost wondered if there even was one.
Flavor was on the watery side as is a lot of Sleeman brews, but still better than Honeyweiss. It did have some sweetness to it with moderate carbonation. I won't go out of my way for more, but I'd still drink it if offered to me and nothing else was available. swiseman (209), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada
