| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | Oct 24, 2003 The packaging of this beer is pretty cool. I love clear bottles... aesthetically speaking. Pop top botttle in a sixer that's completely protected from the light. Unfortunately, for me, that's where the fascination stops! It keeps a lasting white head, and has a particularly brilliantly clear orange, amber body. The aromatics are pleasant and fairly simple... Sweet toasty malt aroma with a littlle bit of honey, no fruitiness since it's a lager, but un interesting just the same. Sweetly malty, toasty, and honey flavors with very good balance, but since it's a lager, no complexity. Finish is malty sweet and very clean. Lighter body with subdued carbonation for a lager. The only difference, IMHO, between this honey bown lager and JW Dundee's, is that this is more well balanced and less sticky sweet. I'm not impressed, and I wouldn't seek this out as an "I have to have this beer", beer. Maybe I'll have a head to head competition between the two and see which I like better. The packaging touts it as Canada's # 1 Micro brewery. A. I'd like to see Canada's definition of Micro Brewery. B. They've obviously never hear of Unibroue! Also expensive for a sixer of this beer. 8.19 for a JW Dundee's equal. For the money, I'd go JW Dundee's @ 4.99/6 even though I rated JW's lower. Aggie80 (708), Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 19, 2003 The bottle shape forces as head, as it 'glugs' out of the clear bottle. Decent head and lacing. Color is a nice brown. Flavor is okay, nothing special, bit of honey sweetness with some malt. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Oct 10, 2003 Weak, thin, nearly tasteless. Mostly skunked due to the stupid bottle being clear and without even a label to shield it from being lightstruck. There is a rating on here that says "it's a bit expensive"!!!!! Guess that person won't be tasting any Cantillon any time soon.... NeonLX (258), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2003 Very pretty medium amber color with an amazing initial creamy-colored head. The head settles down fairly quickly. Slighty cloudy. Smooth & malty with just the mere hint of honey--certainly not overdone. Nice carbonation leads to a good mouthfeel. Very enjoyable! bjbrown24 (61), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 20, 2003 Amber in colour with a nice thin off-white head. Sweet aroma with a bit of malt. Medium-bodied; A bit sweet in the taste. Some honey flavour, but not much. Subtle aftertaste, a bit of malt no hops and almost no sweetness. Overall, not a good beer, but that shows some more flavour than the style usually has. Worth trying if you liked Dundee's Honey Brown. I had this 20 ounce pint served via draught at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York. gws57 (1137), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

Have had it before and it had a touch of honey sweetness and a decent bit of malt to it and were a decent beer. Most recent sample had a bunch of hot alcohol notes in it. Not a nice pint at all.
