Have had it before and it had a touch of honey sweetness and a decent bit of malt to it and were a decent beer. Most recent sample had a bunch of hot alcohol notes in it. Not a nice pint at all. thehoff (569), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA

The flavor is lacking but doesn't have a harsh aftertaste. OK. Tried this in the mall, downtown Toronto. Kåstå (1149), Mol, Belgium
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 2, 2003 Light amber or why not honey brown coloured beer with a big off white head. Slightly sour sweet aroma. Sweet light malty flavour with a drier more hoppy finish. bswift (3), London, Ontario, USA does not count | 0.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Aug 22, 2003 This Haggard swill, is best known, by me as the beer with it's own goddamn skin. I ain't no fuckin' Zombie. yuck. Drink brick. Gavin.
[ I thought this was a top shelf brew until I cracked it open and saw the skin flap. I promptly handed the skin infested brew to Gavin and he drank it... Haha, his lips were strapped together by skin flap! ] SIZZLER Boutip (2404), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Probably the best product from Sleeman but I still don't approve of the clear bottle. JohnBarleycorn (394), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2003 A beer that’s in total agreement with it’s name! A beautiful medium-brown, with tinges of orange, gold and clay layered into the mix. On the nose, strong honey aromas abound, though it’s difficult to pick out which floral nectars the Sleeman bees feast on. Also some spicy hints, especially cloves, plus an unfortunate undercurrent of disinfectant. More spice leads the charge in flavour accents, followed by a good dose of honey and a touch of brown sugar. However, the flavours could still be slightly richer, as a watery palate and fairly thin finish close out a very pleasant beginning and middle. A significantly higher concentration of flavours than one would expect from a major Canadian brewer like Sleeman, this beer is an excellent go-to for honey beer aficionados. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA

The cardboard box saves them from losing a point for the clear bottles. Pretty weak flavor, decent mouthfeel (not completely watery, at least), thankfully not particularly sweet. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I’ve been a fan for a while, so who am I to knock it down? Beautiful reddish copper colour and short off-white head, faintly hoppy nose and pleasant, only slightly sweet (it’s sweeter on tap) and nutty taste, crisp and bubbly body. The clear, label-less bottle is a dumb move, but I’ve yet to have a skunked version. A passable but wussy-sounding selection at any Toronto drinking establishment.
