Smells of strong sweet honey and malts. Taste echoes the smell. Smooth with a honey hop tangyness thats a little rough at first and ends with a nice malt coating. Quite drinkable and flavored honey lager, better then most I've had. gord (36), harbour grace, Newfoundland, Canada

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 22, 2003 (from the bottle). Medium brown. Not terribly sweet, but light on malt notes and no hops to speak of. sleepdirt (169), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 14, 2003 Begins sweet,fizzy and hoppy.Somewhat skunky (due to clear bottle?). Pleasant enough, but aren't there enough of these 'lagers' around? Nothing special. The name 'honey brown' markets well, I suppose. frylock (1024), Buffalo, New York, USA

Not the worst thing you will come across, but not very good Ventrithor (5), Canada does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2003 The taste on tap is a whole different ballgame from in the bottle...on tap it's actually pretty refreshing, in the bottle it tastes skunky, but palatable for the price. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 2, 2003 Dark golden color with a cream colored thin lid of foam. Light dry honey, minimal malt and carrot aromas. Initial flavors of week tea followed by a light honey sweetness, mild malt and touch of corn. Better than the other Sleeman products I've tried, but thats not saying much. whiterabbit81 (244), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2003 Seemed like it taste much better in Canada. Sort of a dirty flavor, with a nice dose of honey. Really nice color and appearance in general. It's tasty but nothing to write home about. As a sidenote, the guy in Canada told me this was a microbrew!! BS!!!!!!
