pours a golden brown color with a small white head. Aroma is a lot of caramel and a hint of honey. Taste is similar to the aroma. Just the right amount of carbonation, but pretty one dimensional . Overall I liked it probably my favorite sleeman as of yet

Bouteille 341ml.

On tap - pours a rich golden brown. One of the better honey lagers, especially for a macro. Smooth mouthful, honey flavour and light hops. Still fairly forgettable, but still refreshing and drinkable.

This used to be THE honey lager for me, I said if your going to do honey brown, don’t, until you try this one. But now it tastes a little cheaper, I’m almost certain when it was taken over that they added some (too much) rice into the brew to keep it cheap, and you can taste it. Ok, but I remember it being a lot more full.

On tap. Pours a pretty nice light copper colour with good-sized white head. Mild, sweet aroma with sort of a fruity malt sense. Flavour has some caramel malt, some other quasi-honeyish sweetness and faint hops. Bit of a syrupy mouthfeel. I remember liking this in university but I also remember drinking mostly Molson and Labatt crap.

473ml poured into a pint glass. Poured a golden brown colour with a 1.25" foamy white head. Lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma has lots of sweetness (like caramel & sugar) and malts. Not really picking up honey per say. Hint of hops in the background. Tastes similar to the aroma. Sweetness up front and a hint of hops in the finish. It’s a bit one dimensional though. It improves somewhat as the beer warms up. Good carbonation and stickiness that I’d expect from a sweeter brew. It’s drinkable. I don’t mind it. I can only drink a couple though before I get bored of it. It’s not a bad beer for a Canadian macro. A bit one dimensional but a pleasant change from the typical blond Lagers.

I quite liked this brown one. The colour was a nice, clear amber and the smallish head dropped away leaving a light lacing. Aroma was malty as was the taste, with no evidence of honey. A clean, refreshing beer.

Bottle. Poured honey brown as the name suggests. Slightly sweet flavor, smooth mouthfeel. Finish wasn’t bad. Enjoyed in Montreal with a plate of poutine, the local specialty. Great with lunch on a sunny afternoon.
