473mL can from the LCBO. Pretty fresh. Pours a surprisingly deep gold for a light lager, with a small white fizz. Very carbonated-looking. Smells of basic grainy pale malts, a minor straw aspect as well, surprisingly less repulsive than one might expect. The flavour is nice mild sweet pale grainy malts with fizz and a tiny dry hop element in the finish. Geez, it’s like Sleeman finally decided to make something drinkable. No off flavours or apparent adjuncts, no Sleeman macro awfulness, just a mild and enjoyable lager on this fine hot almost-summer day.

Light amber with little head and slight lace. Aroma is faint yet decent, not the least offensive. Flavor was surprisingly non-light for a light beer. Rich barley malt and corn. The hops are present with slight citrus aftertaste. Palate is refreshing and crisp, not as watery as most light beers are. If I were to be given the choice to have any light beer I wanted, this one would definitely come to mind.

2008-08-10. Very pale yellow, muted pale malt in the aroma and flavour. Flavour is surprising clean, though also not surprisingly bland. Average palate. Meh. Bottle, Toronto Festival of Beer

Well its a light, not much is needed to be said. But, I believe this one is better than some of the other lights I’ve had (Bud light, Coors light...). So, if I really dont have the choice to drink a light macro beer....

On Tap... Light yellow, no head, weak malt aroma, weak beer type flavour. Palate is watery but not horrible.

I tried this beer on April 25 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a beautiful translucent gold colour with a thin white head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was wet steel and some grass. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour was metallic, grassy, slightly sour, and not at all good.

Clear bottle 341 ml
Note: this is younger brother of Sleeman Premium Light.Poure medium bright white cap with short live span. Clear, pale golden lager below.
More potent than other marketed “light” beers. Grainy with sweet pale malt. Straight plain with low to no hop accent.4-/10
Thin bodied, highly mineral in character softened by softer pale malts. Sweet corn overlaps at end. Small step above other “light” macros but not by much.

Bouteille 341ml.
