Cybercat (393), USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours a dark, warm, almost opaque mahogany with a decent head. Aroma is malty with hints of spice and yeast. Flavor is well-rounded, mainly malty with some hops and touches of spice and smoke. Mouthfeel is nice and edgy so it goes down rough. johntreeter (86), Greenwood, Indiana, USA Jun 4, 2008 11.5 oz bottle Dark 50 version. Pours a medium amber color with a lasting off white head that left good lacing. Aromas of malt and white bread. Malt dominates the flavor, but has an interesting light and smooth hop finish. Light to medium body with a slightly dry texture and nice soft carbonation. A good beer that I will drink again and very cool bottle (even though it’s a half ounce shy). phishpond417 (1386), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 4, 2008 It’s been a while since I have had this one, purchased in a 12 pack variety of Sleeman beers: it pours an almost translucent copper colour with a small off white head. Plenty of caramel and semi-sweet malted notes, flavor is mildly acidic with soft biscuity malts. jbuzz (449), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jun 2, 2008 Pretty average. A god beer but nothing that stands out. Slightly malty, not to sweet. overall good taste.
