| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2006 This has a very traditional English ale taste. It grows on you. The first one was fine, but not that impressive, then a few days later the next two I enjoyed much more. A day later the next one is even better. I don’t know why, perhaps its just a need to familiarize myself with what’s going on tastewise. Not that hoppy, not that malty, not that heavy, yet adequately hearty. Easy drinking, pleasant taste. Nice head, nice aroma, pleasant taste. Right about in the league of a decent ale from England. Not quite the quality of Samuel Smith (I don’t mean Samuel Adams), but they are pretty much at the top of the heap with the high price to go with it. Nevertheless, its up there with some of the better ones out of England. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

The brew poured a nice dark mber color the aroma was slight light affected and had a skunky undertone. The flavor also had a skunky taste and tok from this brew. It was goo but the flavor was off probably an old bottle Hope the next is better. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 19, 2006 This is really bland and boring, with just a little hint of caramel and light maltiness. One sided and unimpressive, with a tinge of funky hops in the finish. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2006 Poured an orange-amber color with a nice white head that faded fast leaving no lace. Aromas were sweet malt, peat, rum, spiced fruit, caramel/toffee and earth. Flavor was sweet malt, caramel, maple syrup, apple, currants and rust, with a light but crisp hop bitterness. Mouthfeel was pleasant, not overly carbonated, and clean. Not too much aftertaste. demitriustown (702), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 16, 2006 Clear amber/red pour with a nice carbonated white head. Aroma is slight hops, cardboard, light caramel, and a kind of a funky corn smell. Taste consists of caramel, slightly malt texture, and light hoppiness. Palate is lightly sweet and pleasant. Hmmm....A rather blah ADL. It’s not gross just unimpressive. Strykzone (1486), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Apr 19, 2006 Brownish red in color with a small head this is not particularly an attractive beer. It also has a fairly unpleasant aroma. Some hops are present in it and maybe some kind of caramel. The first taste is of a low quality beer. Hopes tend to dominate but there is some sour flavor as well. There is also some bitterness. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | Mar 17, 2006 Dark amber, light tan head. Smells like toasted soap, bit of sweetness. Flavor absolutely nasty, harsh and cheap, artificial sweetness attempts but fails to overpower the unpleasant adjuncts. Any maltiness tastes like it comes from some horrible, cheap, generic brand fake chocolate. This sucks.
