Bouteille claire de 341 et en fut. Couleur orange foncé, peu de collet. Arome de malte peu impressionnant. Goût sec et pas trop bon. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 8, 2006 Bottle: Amber in color, somewhat dark, clear, small foamy off-white head, spotty lacing, light carbonation. Sweet grainy nose, slight cereal and honeycomb cereal. Sweetened cardboard and graininess on the tongue, very slight mash flavor. Body and mouthfeel are average at best. Dirty cardboard like finish, honeycomb cereal, too grainy, slightly barnish. Not bad, but certainly not good either.

Original Dark: This was the only one of the three that I remotely cared for. Maybe I’ll drink the remaining three… but I’ll probably give them to my father because he is virtually a goat… but human… but he’ll eat of drink just about anything and like it all the same.
Bronze body and a small off white head. The aroma shows some mild hints of smoky biscuity malts. A meager hint of toffee… with a somewhat sweet buttery finish. The palate is watery and the carbonation is too much. This is another stinker from Sleeman…. I’m really not a fan judging by the 3 offerings I just sampled. At least they own Unibroue, which is a brewery that I admire…. But it still doesn’t redeem them in ant way!

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 10, 2005 Bought a variety pack of Silver, Clear and Red Ale for my guests. Nothing offensive about this beer but very little to distinguish it from any other mass-produced beer. I find it OK as a “session beer” on a hot summer day. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 4, 2005 Bottle - from 3-beer variety case. Decent. A little bit of roastiness and hoppiness. Suffers from a slight metallic taste, even though it’s from a bottle, not a can. Not bad for the price, but I’ve had better for the same price or even cheaper. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA

The appearance is reddish brown and the head is fairly small. The flavor has a quick sharp bitterness that is somewhat metallic. The palate is average for the style. Sweet aftertaste. Overall, it’s just ok. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
