Commercial Description:
Ruby red in colour, this all malt ale is brewed from a combination of roasted barley malts and English aroma hops. Smooth in taste. The hopping is generous but not bitter and has a unique flavour that has become a trademark for Sleeman.

NOTE: Known as "Sleeman Original Dark 50* Amber Ale" in the US.

Clear copper coloured beer with a medium disappearing head. Light malty bread and yeast aroma. Malty taste with a cery light bitter finish. Ok, but nothing special.

Oh boy! A clear bottle showing off it's reddish/clear beer. "The hopping is generous" my ass. A nasty. grainy, terrible macro with Grolsch Amber written all over it.

I wouldn't exactly call this dark. Light brown, little head. Light aroma and flavor. It's drinkable, but it's definitely boring.

Red/Brown color. Probably the Sleeman product with the most persistant head. In mouth it doesnt really honor the style, no sweet toffee, not much maltiness, not much bitterness, very light. Lacks of character.

This dark wasn't very dark at all. Color is solid brown like that of varnished wood with deep yellow tones. Solid, frothy head that settled down well. Smell was a musty grain, kind of light, with a caramel tone. Taste was slightly watery for a dark, some caramel and a bit of oat bread and grassy notes. Felt to light to be a dark, could've had more body. Not bad, but definately had better darks.

Well, its better than their Cream Ale. The dark malts cover up the corn in the mash. Sweet finish. Not very good.
