Dark amber color with an ephemeral white head. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is caramel with floral hop. Seems well balanced. There is a lot of flavor here. Very nice ale. Finishes decently bitter. WISEGUY572 (1249), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Simply a matter of managing your expectations. If you have one of these in Montreal and expect it to be awful, and you’re angry because Sleeman’s now owns La Maudite and other great Quebecois brews, and even angrier that the bistro sold out on the Chamblay ... then this is not as bad as you expect it to be. Dark color, semi sweet, semi-malted, semi-hopped macro brewery, but without the cheap Budweiser signature of Idaho hops, corn and rice, or whatever. Not good. But not visibly flawed. I actually had two. conor23 (110), Elgin, Illinois, USA

smell is malts, hops, and a little sweetness.
taste is a bit watery, metallic, and a bit of hops, not much of a flavor really, i don’t see where the "dark" is in this one. LinusStick (1852), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 8, 2007 Not a bad American dark. This tastes like a macro American beer. Aroma was kind of weak. Could pick up malt and a bit of hops. Pour was a nice dark amber with no head. Taste was very carbonated and not very full. Some hops come in the aftertaste, but while it’s in your mouth its hard to pick up any real flavors. This is a good cook out beer and with the weather we’ve been having this week a cookout is not out of the question. rodenbach99 (708), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada
