Drew (2375), Kent, Ohio, USA Mar 21, 2008 When I saw this, I thought, "Duvel wannabe" - and yeah, it seems like I’m right. Same bottle, same color scheme. Points off for the goofy take off of "sober" and the weird label. So, I was inspired to also pick up som Duvel to compare this to. About $10 for a 4-pack of Duvel, versus $4.50 per bottle for this - a really bad deal. Basically, this tastes like a watered down Duvel - did a side by side tasting of these - similar malt flavors and aromas, but this is weaker. I’ve had so many good/great Belgian brews, this is like a Milwaukee’s Best version of them
aru (51), Smørum, Denmark Aug 11, 2008 Yellow color with large long lasting white head. Sweet creamy flavor - quite complex to the heavy side. thegreenrooster (1480), St.louis, Missouri, USA Jul 30, 2008 Pour is a hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is very grainy for a Belgain with lots of sweetness and some yeast. Flavor is wierd with some dark fruit then a intense sweetness followed by a soapyness. I did not care much for this one. BoBoChamp (618), Gent, Belgium Jul 20, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, clear, rocky head, good brew, but not a topper MiP (4927), Flensburg, Germany Jul 19, 2008 Bottle, 7.5%. Sweet, spicy aroma. Almost clear golden colour, big stable white head. The flavour is sweet and perfumy. Hint of metal in the aftertaste. sneagrams3 (1367), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 11, 2008 The Dan Journal #188. Tasted 7/3/08. 330ml bottle. Hazy and lively with a golden hue. Skim white head. Musty grassy soapy soggy malt nose. Apples and citrus. Medium bodied and tart. Wheaty grassy flavors. Decent.
