Commercial Description:

RERATE: Had this on june 24, Midsummers Eve, 2005. A bottle stored since december -03. Just wonderful. Black with a yellow/beige head. Incredible malty and fruity aroma, with the cocoa, chocolate and licorice still showing. Flavor just as good from vanilla, toffee, chocolate and cocoa. Some licrorice and a great body. This one really has matured in the best of ways... Nov- 03: Draught at the Ardbeg Room, Stockholm. Black with a wonderful brownish head. Aroma is dark chocolate, some sweetness. Flavor is cocoa, coffee and chocolate. Somewhat bitter in the finish, but overall a quite mild stout. (6/4/7/4/15

A black colored beer, with a thick beige foamed head. The aroma of chocolade with dark fruits. Hops and a little sweet. The aroma of pure bitter chocolate. ripe dark fruits, like prune. A full round body. The aftertaste is full, bitter and dry. When the beer gets warmer there are some porto notes.

Bottle from 2007. Big light brown foam that slowly goes down to a lace. Nice smoth chocolate aroma and some dried fruit. The taste have a nice chocolate maltinessbut not to big body to be a imperial stoute. An propriate bitterness with just a hint of residual sugars to balance. No burnt malts present in the taste so I would say it is more of a porter than stoute. Still a nice beer.

330 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a thin beige head. Aroma is sweet malt, some roast, a fruitiness almost like sherry and coffee. Flavor is sweet malty, coffee, fruit, some caramel and a little hint of alcohol. Well made, complex balanced and delicious.

2008 bottle. Black, lacing cappucino beige head. Woody, orangey sacher cake aroma. Also smoke and menthol, a real treat. Menthol woody flavor, very balanced burned maltiness, dark chocolate. Not that thick, but beautiful smooth mouthfeel. A great Impy, even when this young.
