50cl Bottle. Beautiful clear mahogany, slightly coarse beige head. Sweet syrupy nose, earthy spiciness, candi sugar, glue, mild nuttiness and Belgian strong -feel. Flavor is sweet berry wine, molasses, mild clove, coarse finish with minimal bitterness, some earth, resiny glue and hints of minerals. A bit hollow overall. Almost medium bodied, neutral carbonation. Could do a lot better without the spices.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges. Caramel, berries and dried fruit feature in the aroma. The taste is fruity, malty and slightly sweet taste, with dried fruit, caramel and some hoppy elements.

It poured a dark amber liquid with a big dirty white foam that left a nice lacing. Smell of caramell and spices. Fairly smooth mouthfeel with just a bit sting on the tongue. It had a medium body and bitterness. Taste of spices, dark bread, some hops and an alcoholic finish. The spices felt a bit unbalanced. A drinkable beer that worked with the salty christmas food. However it wasn’t a good match with the chocolate and nuts afterwards.
