| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2007 Draught @ the brewery: Malty aroma was a bit faint. Smelled of alcohol, wood, a little Belgian spices, medicine, and yeast. Poured a ruby-brown color with a medium-sized, creamy, off-white head that lasted. Good lacing. Flavor was a little sweet. Malty, with notes of alcohol, coriander, nutmeg, toasting, earth, clove, and a hint of banana. Medium body. Dry, sticky texture. Dry finish. Overall, a solid Abbey Dubbel. Just not one of my favorite styles. jcwattsrugger (5308), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 25, 2007 Draught at Royersford. Clear, ruby-brown body with a velvety beige head. Dark caramelized aroma with notes of bread crusts, cocoa, light rubbery clove-like phenols, and an element of cooked bananas. Moderately sweet flavor with some toasty edges and modest bitterness. Has some lingering raisin flavors, but not a great deal of depth otherwise. Still, this is a solid American dubbel overall.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 15, 2007 On tap at the Blind Tiger in NYC. The pour was slightly murky-ish red-brown to orange, decent initial head, lacing nice too. Aroma was spices, dough, some light floral notes. The flavor followed, nice yeasty bready touch, finishing with a touch of bitterness, spices present with some zesty zing, other fruits, dark and light perhaps. Caramel and chocolate also underneath it all. The mouthfeel was moderate, pretty nice for the style, could have used some nutty notes along with the rest of the beer, pretty good stuff.
