Spicy (ginger), yeasty Abbey Dubbel with a flash in the pan foam. It wasn’t exactly flat just no head.

Draught @ Sly Fox: This one poured a clear, yet almost opaque brown color. Tinges of red in there too. There was no head to it at all, with very little carbonation. No lacing at all. The aroma is a somewhat sweet caramel malt nose Some dark fruits. Also somewhat spicy. The taste is similar to the aroma. Last year’s was a bit overly sweet, but I didn’t find that in this year’s version. Very Nice.

On tap at the Sly Fox in Royersford. Poured a medium reddish-brown color with no head. Aromas and tastes of dark fruits (raisins and plums) and candy sugar. Lightly sweet.

Poured a brownish red color with a medium sized, off white head that quickly diminished and left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruits (cherries, berries), candy sugar, yeast, and caramel. Tart cherry taste, some yeast, sweet malts, and light alcohol comes through as pepper. Round mouthfeel.

A nice Belgian dubbel. Good candi sugar odors and flavors. Strong alcohol presence. Finishes with the typical dubbel super sweetness and slight sourness.
