Aug 17, 2004 Updated: Apr 18, 2007On tap at the Drafting Room. Poured a medium to dark amber color with a smaller off white head. Strong citrus (lemon and orange) aroma and flavors. Nice bitter finish.
Had the ’07 version from Growler. I kept the number the same but will add some more description. Aromas of citrus, floral and some pine. Tastes of citrus, floral/green leaf hoppiness, and earthy. Nice grapefruit bitter finish.

Jun 11, 2007 Tap at HDG. Deep amber beer with a thick white head. Nice piny/resiny nose, a bit of fruity grapefruity character. Very resiny bitterness. Malts play a backing note in this one for sure. Resiny and very dry on the back. Nice beer and one of the better examples from this single hop project. Doesn’t taste anything like any Amarillo-hopped beer I’ve had before though with little of the bright mango/tropical fruit that I’ve come to associate with this hop. Still, I’m not complaining about a solid IPA.

Apr 14, 2004 Pours dark straw, with aroma of strong hops, some malt, and citrus. Tastes very hoppy, finishes hoppy, with some dryness, citrus, and malt. Very good.

Aug 17, 2004 Poured a copper color with a small off white head and light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus (lemon and orange). Lightly hopped as well. Taste was dry and fruity, predominantly citrus, and finished with a nice bitterness.

Jan 28, 2005 Pretty much all thier IPA’s from this project have the typial amber/deep orange look to it, all posessing a slight head which lasts and has a good lacing. Aroma in this one is Fruity- slight orange flavors and some other citrus with a touch of pine. A little grapefruit in the flavor as well. Typical crystal malt and pale malt backbone of all the experimental single hop IPA’s. This was one of my favorites of all the single hop IPA’s but the balance of 113 makes it an overall better IPA.

Apr 17, 2007 Thanks to FooFaa for sharing this growler. Pours a translucent golden amber with an average off white bubbly head that left some lacing. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, some variuos citrus and floral. Some caramel malt. Flavor was more earthy, pine, some grapefruit, and toasted malts lots of hops bitterness.

Jun 9, 2007 Draft @ HDG. Orange amber color with a small but sturdy head. Since I love Amarillo, this should be a joy and it is. Citrus yeah but theres a nice smooth maltiness that balances everything out nicely. Nice floral notes and a warming finish.

Apr 14, 2007 Draught: Aroma was heavily hoppy and bitter. Smelled of Amarillo hops and citrus fruits. Spicy scent. Poured amber in color with a medium tan head that lasted throughout. Great lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor was very bitter but not sweet. Tasted of grapefruit and Amarillo hops. Light to medium body. Crisp texture. Dry bitter finish. Overall a very good varietal IPA. At this point my second favorite IPA of the IPA Project.
