| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 20, 2009 This is one of the better offerings of this year’s Hop Project from the Sly Fox. This beer pours a clean amber color with a thick and bubbly off-white head. The head leaves a good amount of lacing around the glass. The nose is quite hoppy, but balanced with a touch of bready malts, grass, lemon and pepper. The body is smooth and extremely drinkable. The flavors are well-balanced, with a nice hoppy tone and hints of caramel malt, grapefruit, lemon, black pepper and bread. The finish is again balanced with a slightly spicy note. Like I said, this is definitely one of the better APA’s of the Project this year.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Draft. Blind Tiger, NYC. Amber body. Small, off-white head, mostly diminishing. Somewhat spicy aroma with notes of grapefruit, orange and resin, but more muted than the aroma from American-grown cascade hops. Hint of grain and toffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Fairly straightfoward pale ale and quite enjoyable, nicely bittered with a sweet, orange, citrus backbone. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger. Pale amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is a little bit spicy and fairly fruity. There is a distinct blackberry/currant character on the nose. A touch of tangerine as well, but this is worlds away from the North American grown hop. Reminds me of beers that use a ton of Northern Brewer or Brambling cross and it comes across as a much more European tasting hop than I would have expected. The beer has a moderate bitterness with a lingering fruitiness. Pretty nice brew, really. egajdzis (3626), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2009 [Draft @ CAH] Amber with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2009 Tap at Fourth Ave Pub: Deep golden copper with an off white film of head. A softly sweet bready pale malt base backs up a spicy, zesty and piny hop presence- also displays some berryish fruit characteristics. Creamy light body- the body provides just enough mild sweet pale malt to balance a perfumy berryish hop character. A brief lemon rind note is there in the middle palate with a long, piny herbal bitter finish. A bit one-dimensional- The Argentinian cascade seems to possess less fruity/citrusy complexity than her North American cousin breed. puzzl (2620), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Tap at the Blind Tiger. A nice pale ale, revealing the rather obvious truth that cascade is an awesome hop. A bit more piney than I would have expected (must be the Argentinean part), but the citrus notes are still there. Potent with big carbonation. More east coast than west coast. hopdog (5590), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
