I guess that a lb per gallon was not enough. Otherwise, it is sort of light tasting. Bartzilla (445), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2007 Pretty good. Finished up pretty dry. Upon it first gracing my tongue, I expected the usual sickly sweet finish that I get with most raspberry infused concoctions like this. But no, I was surprised. Finished like a flavored seltzer water. This is something I could drink in the morning before work, albeit getting nothing done at work with the 8% payoff. Not bad, glad I tried it. This was a "gateway" taster at Death Metal Beer Tasting Festival, hence my recollection is pretty vivid of this unique ale. nolankowal (855), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma pretty much consisited of raspberries with some light sweet malt holding it up. The flavor was of light raspberry, raspberry artificial flavoring and more pale malt. Light body with a fruity/clean finish. Not bad, but it coud’ve used a bit more complexity...or at the very least less artifical tasting flavors. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2007 Thanks to doclock for this. Pours a hazy plum color with a big pink head. Lots of carbonation and quite fizzy. Aroma and flavor is crisp and tart. Mild malts and citrus. Body is pretty thin and tastes a little watered down but still isnt too shabby. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 18, 2007 750ml bottle from Northerntimber I believe: Aroma and appearance receive high marks because this stuff smells and looks like fresh raspberry juice. Unfortunately, it’s a little dry and watery upon initial taste. I agree with some others - it does finish fairly nice. Damn fine attempt at this style, but it ultimately comes up a little short. kmweaver (2501), Sebastopol, California, USA

What we have here is an energetic brew (coming out through the cork!). Dark ruby color; off-white head with light retention. Strong, tart raspberry aroma: one-dimensional. Medium, watery mouthfeel: red raspberries, white pepper and water. Lacking much density. Medium, syrupy fruit finish. And water. argo0 (7027), Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Mar 9, 2007 (22oz bottle) Hazy purple body with small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, inviting raspberry. Taste is medium sweet, raspberry, some raspberry astringency, light wheat, seltzer. Light body, alcohol well hidden. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 3, 2007 Dark purple with a large head, terrible retention and lacing. The aroma is sweet raspberries with notes of wheat, yeast, some basement funk. Flavor brings this, fairly sweet but there is some tartness there as well. Light bodied and still pretty easy to drink. Finish is better than the start. Tasty, I’m surprised.
