Very balanced but hoppier than most Scottish ales I’ve had. Chewy, bready, more flavorful and less sweet than others in the style. Lasting malt finish. hopscotch (5490), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Deep, crystal clear mohogany hue. Medium-sized white head with excellent, thick lacing.
Aromas of caramel, milk chocolate, English toffee and molasses.
The flavor is malty, rich and caramely up front. Very well-balanced with a lightly bitter hop presence on the backside.
Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation.
Long astringent, dry finish.
Excellent brew! World Class! Looks like I'm the only one, so far, who thinks so. obxdude10 (1559), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2008 Draft: Poured a dark amber color with a little bit of head. The aroma was that of sweet toffee malts. The flavor was pretty much half pale ale and half watered down brown ale. It was actually a delicious beer and one of my favorites at Sly Fox. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2007 Draught at Royersford. Clear orange-copper body with a loose, velvety off-white head. Grapey malt nose with light toffee notes. More fruity malt in the flavor with light caramelization, a note of well-toasted bread and some notable bittering hops. Semi-dry. Overall this is a solid, well-styled Scottish Ale that makes for a decent pint.
