| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Draught: Sweet aroma. Smelled fruity, and also of floral hops. Poured amber in color, with a medium, off-white head that lasted throughout. Good lacing. Clear. Not sparkling. Flavor was moderately sweet and bitter. Initially it was hoppy and floral with notes of citrus fruits. Then it became malty, with notes of roasting and coffee. Very well balanced. Light to medium body. Average carbonation. Short bitter finish. Overall, interesting and tasty. Dickinsonbeer (3496), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2007 On tap at Phoenixville. Pours a moslty clear medium amber with a thin whitish gray head. Aroma is toasty, buscuit malts, belgian aromatic, light roast, and sweet malts with a light rustic earthy and herbal hint. Light caramel malt flavor with more toasty and buscuity malts, sharp dark crystal note and more earth- slightly off- metallic bitterness. Ok mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Goes down pretty smooth. I prefer the Bavay, and even the Mckenzie farmhouse to this. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Sly Fox Phoenixville. Clear, warm-metallic golden-amber body with an ample pale head. Aromatic malty flavor with rich notes of fruit, nuts and caramel, plus light yeasty highlights. Prominently sweet in the flavor with well-integrated Munich malt signatures and notes of lightly toasted bread crusts. Moderately strong hop bitterness. Comes together very smoothly. I dig the dude’s beer.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2007 Draft at P-ville. Deep coppery pour with 1-finger or so off-white head that didn’t stay around long. The aroma was caramel malty, somewhat fruity, with slight candi sugar and floral hints. The taste was caramel malty, on the dry side, with floral and spicy notes coupled with some fruit hints and some honeyish notes. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 3, 2007 Draft @ Phoenixville. Darker amber color with small white head. Aroma is a pleasant, subdued mix of earthy-smoky malts, some slightly sweet fruits, and just a bit of hops. Taste was a nice complex mix of smoky grains, sweet - almost bock-like malts, and a good deal of other complex flavors + sticky hop goodness to top things all off. Wow - I hope other incarnations of this are brewed by Sly Fox or someone...... weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 1, 2007 Appears a semi transparent amber with a small, off white head that slowly fades out. Small amounts of lacing are scattered around the glass.
Smell is of caramel, earth notes, raisins, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla cream, cherrywood, light citrus, some gentle rubbery funk, and mild roasted cocoa nib notes buried deep in the background.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with gentle spicing and a mix of layered flavors.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, light amounts of CO2, dry with wood like hops finishing off the enjoyment of this well done brew.
