Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 17, 2009 A deep reddish amber dunkel with a thin off white head. In aroma, a sweet caramel fudge, nutella, light German hops, wonderful. In mouth, a nice malty taste with light burned coffee notes, medium bodied. Can, shared with probstk, Sept. 12 2009. yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Sep 21, 2009 Amber brown color with a fluffy head. Not sure why I don’t see this as much anymore. So balanced and drinkable it was my go-to for a while. Aroma of sweet caramel malts and mellow hops. Flavor is smooth and balanced, caramel, grain and faint hops. GG (1613), NorCal, California, USA Sep 8, 2009 Nice to have another craft beer option in a can, but it was just a so-so option at best. First, the beer poured out with a HUGE eruptive head that was 100% foam in my glass as I poured it. It literally took up the entire contects of my glass with foam, and had to wait at least 5-10 minutes until it melted. Overpressured or infected? Thankfully, perhaps just overpressured. The body was a clear mahogany brown color. Aroma is light caramel malts. Flavor is light caramel, a bit of brown sugar and some metallic notes. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 7, 2009 Light amber pour with a creamy white head and lace. Brown sugar and pie spice. Rich sweet malt with a rather flat flavor. Thin but nice carbonation. mcox90 (618), Wilton, USA Jul 26, 2009 12 oz. can given to me by a gentleman from Pa. while on vacation in Maine. Poured into a shaker pint glass. Pours a clear light brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, Palate is on the thin side and smooth. Flavor is pretty one dimensional, caramel malt. Very enjoyable. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Jul 26, 2009 Can sample at Noogfest High 5. Poured amber with a thin off-white head. Caramel aroma. Caramel and metallic flavor. Light body and sweet. Tmoney99 (4659), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 17, 2009 Can sample at Noogfest High 5.
Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with esxcellent lacing.
Moderate toasted caramel malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where met. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Jul 10, 2009 Sampled at the Noogfest High 5. Can poured a clear medium amber with small ring of whitish head. Smells of caramel and a flavor follows, but has a little metallic quality. Pretty mediocre, but I do appreciate the cool can.
