Lightly toasted malts and a tad bit smokey? Refreshing, but rather bland. High carbonation. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 23, 2007 Can. Copper colored with a tan foamy (spit textured) head, which formed high and held up for a while. Big bubbled carbonation. Honey-nut malty aroma. Cereal/caramel malt flavor balanced nicely with grassy hops, but finishes kind of metallic and tinny, which ruins what could have been a pretty good dark lager. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA

Clear cola color with a small tan head. Mild aroma of toasted malt and some caramel, with little else detected. Flavor was lightly sweet toasted malts, nuts, mild hop bitterness and a bit of caramel.
Began drinking it on the cold side, and actually liked it better that way than when it started to warm up. Decent and drinkable, but also very forgettable. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA

A rocky off white head, mostly diminishing, leaves sporadic thick lacing. Aroma is of toasted malts with a slight hint of wheat malt, dry fruit skins, still fermenting yeast, pickled peppers. Flavor is more of the same. Additions include roasted grain husks and a metallic shroud surrounding a crisp American/German hop blend, plus a small amount of caramel malts. Palate is thin, watery and unimpressive. Medium dry finish. I can’t think of an appropriate time or place for this disaster of a fermented beverage and I certainly wouldn’t seek this out in the future. harleyjoeg (2), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 31, 2006 Sampled many beers today at the Sly Fox and this beer was a great lager, one of my favorites. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2006 12oz can Deep amber color with decent size fizzy-foam white head. Aroma is very malty, almost smelling of flour. Taste starts out very grainy and largely pleasant, but the finish leaves an odd aftertaste. Metallic? I’m not sure if I can blame the can. Overall, a decent brew. Sly Fox can be hit and miss, but they offer up enough good beers that make you forget the less than spectacular ones........ JoeMcPhee (5025), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 21, 2006 12 oz can. Dark brown beer with a thin, fast-fading white head. Aroma is slightly sulphurous with soft caramel notes as well. Light noble hop spiciness in the nose. Flavour shows a bit of caramel, light nuttiness, spicy hops… but also a distracting metallic character that I’ve noticed in a few of their beers. It’s decent enough, if decidedly simple.
