Little white soda head. rancid vegetable wheat smell. Flavor, can, tomato juice. Bleah. Drinkable, meainly because I’m in a bar and embarrased to ask for a drainpour. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 15, 2005 Strong bubblegum and banana esters in the bready malt forward aroma. Opaqur reddish brown body with a low white head that recedes to ring. Banana, wheat, toffee flavours join with bready malts. Medium light body with strong carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, egajdzis, Eyedrinkale, MartinT, Rastacouere and Yowie. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 2, 2005 Not the best the Sly Fox has done, orangish brown color, minimal off-white head, small amout of clove & banana in the nose along with some yeast, very sour & acid-like flavors, not very palatable, sour & unpleasant finish

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 19, 2005 Diminishing white head covers the very murky copper-brown pour. Estery and doughy yeastiness unveils banana, apricot and grape flavours that blend in nicely with the noye laden malts. Supporting herbal hops and bandagey phenols procures a warming authenticity. Big bubbled carbonation, medium bodied, foamy texture, slightly tart, but not disturbing the malts. Enjoyable. weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA

Appears a murky dark brown/copper toned with a nice 3 finger beige head hanging around in my tall Brooklyn Weisse glass. It never really goes away and tons and tons of sticky lacing are clinging all over the place.
Smell is of Bazooka Joe, bananas, sugary wheat, cloves, along with chocolate and light caramel malt.
Taste is of the same aromas...there is no other way to argue it.
Upon original review, I felt that the mouthfeel was a little on the thin side but after careful review, it’s just a subtle taste zipping along the palate with a delicate spice that is to be appreciated. Sugary and spicy with a clove and chocolate malt lingering. I actually like this dark version of the Fox’s German wheat beers a bit more. michael-pollack (2729), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 14, 2005 Draught @ Brewery: Huge aroma of banana, cloves, and bubblegum. Dark, cloudy, copper color. Big, light-tan head. Cloudy. Flavors of cloves, with a little banana and pepper. Lasting finish. Easy to drink. Medium bodied. I do not personally love this beer, but it is clearly well-crafted. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2005 The Lure: Caramel sweetness, clove-y yeast spiciness and citrusy, crunchy wheat coexist but can’t shed any light on the purpose of their union.
The Festivities: A succulent mouthfeel promotes caramel malts as well as spicy fruitiness. Consequential to the aroma, but a little bolder and better blended. A nourishing example of the style.
Transcendence: Although not refined, mom’s cooking never disappoints.
