Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jan 28, 2005 EKG gives a nice fruity background with some hints of herbs and some earthiness but well rounded. SOmewhat flowery as well. Somewhat harsh and muddled bitterness in the end. michael-pollack (2598), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 21, 2004 Drought: Smells hoppy and bitter. Poured golden-orange color with a big white head. Lasting lacing. Clear. Tasted of East Kent Goldings. Nice and hoppy and bitter. Very easy to drink, especially on cask. Overall, a very good IPA. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 20, 2004 Draft at the brewery for the IPA Project. Good clean beer. Nothing wrong with it. This just didn’t do anything for me. No bite. rhapsouldize (174), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 18, 2004 Tap. Light amber in color...doesn’t really look too much like an IPA. Caramelly, malty aroma. Well-balanced, and the malts come out nicely in the flavor. Flavor is hoppy and strong notes of caramel or butterscotch come out. Overall, a good IPA. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA Dec 11, 2004 Tap at the SF IPA event. Deep orange, clear, tan head. Hoppy aroma with a slight malt note coming through. Lots of hops, but a stalish malt flavor. Hops linger. I thought fuggels to be better. Maybe some diacetyl in this one. BrianO (138), Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2004 Copper in color with some cloudiness, no doubt frm the cask-condition. Aroma is noble hops with some caramel malt.
Good IPA flavor with a decent mouthfeel although it did seemed a little thin. Nice bitterness and hides the alcohol well. obxdude10 (1545), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2004 Cask-conditioned, cloudy light amber color, huge fluffy white head, excellent lacing around the glass, hoppy & citrus nose, bitter & dry flavors with hints of pine & oak, silky mouthfell, very smooth & very drinkable, could have drank this all night, excellent IPA
hopdog (5525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2004 On tap at the Drafting Room. Cask conditioned. Served at cellar temperature. Poured a medium hazy amber color with a smaller off white head. Compared to the other Sly Fox IPAs I had this night, this was more subtle smelling and tasting (hoppy, citris and some malts). Well rounded and very good.
