Mar 24, 2007 Tap at Barcade. Amber coloured beer with a thick white head. Very faint aroma (as with several of these Sly Fox IPA projects) with a bit of earthiness, dusty pale malt. The flavour shows a bit of berry, dry woodiness and a hint of tree bark/resin. I guess Galena isn’t a terribly tasty hop. A touch of cooling mintiness on the back, but the beer itself doesn’t really do it for me.

Mar 15, 2007 Amber color with small-med white head. Crisp, citrusy hop aroma. Taste was smooth, clean and crisp - very pleasant citrus with an almost melon-like taste mixed in. Another good single-hop IPA from Sly Fox!

Mar 10, 2007 Draught in Phoenixville: This one pours a clear amber color with a small white head. The aroma is a touch light, but good nonetheless. Hoppy, but diverse, with both pine and citrus in the nose. Kind of mellow taste for an IPA. It does have a decent enough bite, however. Well balanced. Good!

Feb 20, 2007 Draught at WAH. Clear amber/copper with an off-white head leaving striped lacing. Aroma of light caramel with spicy and citrus hops. Substantial malt flavor--toffee and caramel--like the west coast IPAs--with an ample spicy and citrusy hop backing. Orangey finish leaving a pleasant lingering hop bitterness on the tongue, which I think is vital for a good IPA. Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Nice work from SFB.

Feb 15, 2007 2007 - Just tapped as the 2007 season starts. Had a big glass in the Phoenixville Brew Pub in the snow of Valentine’s Day. Great setting. This year’s rendition is amply hoppy, with a bit more aroma than usual for their varietal IPA’s. Beautiful color with a perfect head and ample lacing. Great finish on the Galena. The mild hoppiness lingers for just the right amount of time to let you know exactly what you are drinking, and then it dissipates nicely to make you want more. A great varietal with a natural, organic flavor to it. Nothing in it is over-the-top, as some of the varietals can be. Highly recommnded fresh on tap.

Sep 12, 2005 Dark golden body and a strong lacing foam head. Citrus aroma, moderate bitterness. Overall a smooth, clean 7.2% ABV IPA.

Aug 21, 2005 Draught @ brewery: Very faint aroma of hops and a little cream. Dark, ruby-red color. Darkest Sly Fox IPA I have seen. Big, white, creamy head. Medium lacing. Full Galena flavor which was medium bitter and medium dry. Tasty, but I prefer more bitter hop flavor. Easy to drink. Overall, a solid IPA.
