May 3, 2008 Pours a nice amber color with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, apple, peat, roast, and peppery hops. Flavor is malty, peat, roast, caramel, and a bitter peppery finish.

May 3, 2008 Pours deep brown similar in color as root beer with a small head, and below average lacing. Below average carbonation with a sweet smell of malts and mild hops. Tastes malty and very sweet with a slight woody and bitter taste. Light on the pallet, this beer is not bad but could use more flavor.

Apr 24, 2008 12 oz draft. Vintage in Center City Philadelphia. Golden brown coloring. Mild malt, with overly strong after tastes for my liking. I would not classify it as a "good" scottish ale dispite its advertising.

Apr 14, 2008 Draft. Nice deep brown body with thin head. Aroma is light smoke, malty. Flavor is sweet malt, lite peat and smoke with a small amount of caramel. Very smooth for a scotch ale.

Apr 13, 2008 Aroma was rather light but had some sweet malt in it. poured a rich ruby color with a small head. Flavor was kind of unexciting but not in anyway offensive. malty and pretty fruity, but nothing that really stuck out as a flavor note. medium bodied. alright.

Apr 11, 2008 Draft at Capones. Pours deep mahogany with an off white head. Malty aroma is ho hum. Medium bodied but with some fizziness to the texture. Flavor of tobacco and dark caramel with an odd fruitiness. Semi dry and unexciting finish. This one did not excite me.

Apr 4, 2008 22 oz bomber purchased at Spirits RB. Pours a clear deep ruby mahogany with lots of bubbles clinging to the side of the glass and a small bubbly white head. Malty aroma with notes of raisin, sugar, grass, earth and grain. Syrupy body with strong carbonation and some alcohol warming even though this is only 7.5%. Flavor of dark fruit, dark bread and some sort of bland sweetness towards the finish. Not really digging this beer even though it is Scottish style the best I can give it is a 3.

Mar 28, 2008 Caramel in color with very little white head, and faint lacing. Aroma is sweet and somewhat worty with caramel and toast. Light, slightly metallic taste with roasted beet finish. Not a more splendid example of its style $5/22oz
