bomber- pours a dep dark hazy amber with a thin head- and only some spotty light lace. Aroma is very sharp with harsh dark crystal or special b malts, but also a very fake sugary sweetness- kinda like splenda, but also like a dark grape sugary canrdy- maybe a red smartie and a grape spree aroma going on- yeah deifnite grapiness goin on- grape soda even- probably the first I have ever smelled this characcter in a beer. Flavor is simlar- I get grapesode and cola- if you mixed them- more artificial sweetneers and rediculous candies like smarties and maybe those runts candies- some more hsarp dark stewed malts. Light carbonation, but stil a sharpness in there to throw things off. i used to drink this on tap and thought it to be a decent to good scotch ale- now that it is bottled, it is pretty messed up and not very enjoyable. Meh.

Bottle. Pours a a deep brownigh amber, with a 1ish finger tan head. Aroma is smokey, with some roasted malts and some caramel. Flavor is much the same. The peat/smoke definitely works for me. Medium bodied. Rather enjoyable.

The color was deep berry/brown. The head was thin, creamy, and white. The aroma was sweet, rich, and dark fruit. The flavor was the same. The palate was lively. The finish was warm.

Thanks doclock. Pours a dark ruby brown with a one finger tan head. Very malty raisiny aroma, fruity, sweet, light hop bitterness, . The flavor is sweet and malty, a little grain, light hop profile, a light peat or smoked flavor, cornish background. Nice malty mouthfeel, a light bitterness and a refreshing carbonation. Very enjoyable scotch ale.

Bottle: Poured dark brown\dark amber with a light tan head. The aroma was smokey sweet with hints of caramel and chocolate. The flavor was about the same with a nice sweet malty finish. Overall another great beer from a great brewer.

Draft at Standard Tap. Served without much head at all. Aroma is sweet with strawberry, cherry and some chocolate. Flavor is much of the same and not much else. A bit on the sweet side, its almost fruitty to a fault. Lollipopish, if you will. Why must this coat my palate so?

A highlanders malt paradise. Thick bodied, this beer pours a deep red brown with a smallish quickly recening tan head. The aroma mild molasses and strong sweet maltiness, but lacks some of the peatiness associated with the style. Flavor is much the same. Slick mouthfeel with a sweet short finish. Easily drinkable and dangerous at 7.5% Strap on yer kilt!
