Commercial Description:
Odyssey is an Imperial, or Double, IPA brewed with an assortment of hop varieties, and lots of them! Near orange in color, Odyssey is medium-bodied and (obviously) hoppy, with pleasant alcohol hints in the nose and finish.

22oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Pours clear orange-amber with a thin but lasting head. The smell is kinda weak with just some faint hop spiciness. Smells almost exactly like their Phoenix Pale Ale. There is much more flavor in there than the smell indicates though. Lots of pithy grapefruit, some tangerine, grass, and a touch of noble hop spiciness. Hop bitterness is front and center and lasts for over a minute after a sip. Very dry and lacks the sweetness of most other DIPAs. Good and different from the norm.

22 oz bomber from Spirits RB. Pours a clear thin honey amber with a large frothy bridge head. Aroma really shows the age of this one with more barley wine qualities then DIPA. Notes of honey, caramel, toffee, grain and sweet hop syrup. Body is pleasant with a medium mouthfeel and a bitter lingering finish. Flavor of grain and malty sweetness including honey, caramel and raisin. Not bad but I wonder how much this would be better fresh.

Very nice pine and citrus aroma from a clear orange pour. Small head laces the glass. Flavor has a touch of malt sweetness at the front followed by an intense hop hit. Very bitter and dry finish. Very good.

A clear dark golden colored beer, with a off white head. The aroma of bitter fruits, like citrus with nettle. The taste of bitter hops with fruits like citrus. It has some dry. The aftertaste is bitter, dry and a little sweet.

Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Dark amber color. The aromas of toffee and orangey-lemony hops. Bittersweet flavor with toffee, nuts and juicy orangey-lemony hops. Too thick maltiness, hops are masked.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods - Bowery, 10/31/09

Aroma: A nice, but light citrus aroma, some other fruits and grass as well
Appearance: Pours a dark orange, almost amberish, color with a thin white head
Flavor: More malty and less hoppy then the style usually is, but it has a nice taste it
Palate: This one has a pretty decent mouthfeel with a medium body and a bit of an ABV bite.
Overall Impression: This was a pretty decent beer, but it didn’t quite live up to what I wanted from this beer and this style. I’m not saying it was bad, but it wasn’t quite up to my expected level.

Bottle@Home. Sweet citrus aroma, also light grassy. Amber colour, beige head, good lace. Sweet start, very bitter finish, grapefruit, grass, apple, nasty bitter in the finish. Very sparkling, light burn in your throat.

Bottle, bought @ De Bierkoning. Orange blonde color, tiny chunks of yeast floating. Melon, pineapple, mango and oily hops in the aroma. Firm oily earthy hopbitter flavor, pushing away fruity notes, like pineapple and mango. Alcoholic. Earthy bitter aftertaste with red berries. Typical American DIPA.
