Small, frothy, off-white head with a clear, dark-yellow body. Average finish that was smokey and dry. alobar (1026), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Pours a clear amber color with a powerful smoked aroma. Sweet up front masks the smoke on the back end. Serves as a nice balance. Really enjoyed this beer. blipp (1684), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2009 Draft. Pours deep golden amber with a thin head. The aroma has sweet, toasty and smoky malts. The flavor is also sweet malty, with a solid dose of smoke, smoked meat and earth. Solid. Nate (2554), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Sampled on draught at Phoneixville location. Super caramel coated smoky sausage aroma. Well done. Deep copper amber clear with thin off-white head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts with nice sweet malt and caramel flavors. Very mellow. Has a great smoky flavor that is very tasty but not overpowering. Finishes a little sweet with some hop bitterness. Smoky light after. Hard to find a good Rauchbier and this is one of them. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Brassy colored body adorned by a creamy head. Nice malt backbone of which easy smoked beechwood hovers. Easy smoky flavor and mild woodiness amidst the malt. Fizzles out at the end and feels too weak bodied too support the rather jerky-flavored smokiness. Funknmilla (600), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA

Smell: An obvious woody smoked aroma that was accompanied with a slight hoppy and dry earthy smell as well.
Appearance: Poured a dark nutty brown color with a quickly dissipating head with a good amount of lacing.
Taste: Sweet malts up front with a smokey hop finish. Nothing amazing on the palate but a truly well balanced beer that wood be decent without the smokiness but with it is just a little something extra that makes this a good beer.
Mouthfeel: I didn’t find the body to be too heavy more a medium bodied beer. Carbonation was present but not much.
Drinkability: A very drinkable beer that provides a balanced amount of flavor. Unfortunately only available on tap.
