Draft at the Phoenixville location, July 2006. An orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light citrusy note. The flavor is very hoppy for a Belgian style beer, but also with nice spicy notes, and some fruits. The end is spicy and last for a long time, drying out the mouth. The alcohol leaves a slight note, but most importantly gives it a good body. Nice.

(BCTC, 2007 3L bottle, thanks Eugene) Medium off-white head atop murky orange body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, yeast, some candi sugar. Taste is moderately sweet, candi sugar, yeast, some orange. Sofy medium body, low carbonation.

On tap at the Royersford locatoin. Poured a medium golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of yeast, spices and a little fruity. Tastes of yest, spices, and light candi sugar. Medum sweet. Light alcohol in the finish.

Draft... Clear, yellow ale with a small, frothy, white head. Fruity, yeasty aroma with notes of apricot, citrus fruit and bread. The flavor is sweet, breadsy and grainy. Between medium and full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Finishes gently sweet with a kiss of toffee. Not one of my favorite styles, but a very decent beer.

Growler from Whole Foods Bowery. Pale golden beer with a thin white head. Aroma is pretty nice. Light clove, peach and soft spiciness. There is a lightly honeyed sweetness with a very Duvelesque character. Soft crackery Belgian malts on the back. Pretty lean-bodied with a very nice dryness. There is a light kiss of pear/apple and spice as well. Soft, lightly herbal bitterness. This is a pretty solid Belgian Strong Ale.

Draft at Sly Fox. Clear dark yellow golden body, with a tall, pillowy white head, about 1/2 inch thick after it settles. Super sweet nose of Belgian candy sugar, sweet syrupy and sharp malt (clean), some lighter spiced fruit and whatnot, but mostly this is just heavy with a sugary candy and malt flavor, like a simple or uncomplicated tripel, without any dryness. Flavors of clove, coriander and anise are present but very minimal, and mostly it’s just overly syrupy and sweet.

A nice Belgian. I'm not sure if they consider this a dubbel or trippel, but it has classic Belgian ccandi sugar flavors and aromas. An acquired taste, but I like this one.

Tap @ Barcade (just before my glass of 120 minute IPA). Pours a clear gold color. Sweet malty aroma and flavor. Belgian yeasty notes in the both aroma and flavor. Long dry bitterness on the finish.
